Az. austrinum

Az. austrinum

Commonly called the Florida azalea, Rhododendron austrinum is one of the more valuable species for flower and fragrance. The extravagant trusses are large and very showy with long stamens adding to the exotic look. And if that is not enough to get you excited...there is fragrance too! A large growing shrub that can get to 10 ft tall and wide over time. The color of the flowers can be described as yellow to peach to orange-red. Stunning!  Deciduous and hardy to zone 6.
