Warlock

One of the parents of the famous 'Black Widow', this rhododendron is almost as dark. The buds open about as black as is possible, then open to the super dark burgundy color it is famous for. The plant is a bit open growing, so occasional pruning is recommended. The flowers open in mid to late April and will appear a very dark red, especially with the light coming from behind. This hybrid is the result of crossing a deep burgundy with a deep purple. The new growth after flowering is a maroon color. Warlock has been one of our top requested plants for many years now as that flower really is quite unique.
