Providence

Providence

A well mannered Scottish heath that was found as a seedling in 1972 by Mr. H.M.J. Blum in the heather garden of 'De Voorzienigheid', the nunnery at Steenwijkerwold (Netherlands) where he was gardener; introduced by P. G. Zwijnenburg (Boskoop, Netherlands) in 1974. The flowers on 'Providence' are about as dark as they get, approaching red. The foliage is a soft, dark-green, on plants that will be 12 inches tall and 24 inches wide over time.
