Probably the most famous of the lavender cultivars, 'Provence', from that part of France where it is grown commercially for the perfume industry. 'Provence' can be grown in poor soils, and prefers some heat in summer. It is even tolerant of summer humidity. Thought to be the most fragrant of the lavenders, and one of the tallest. Excellent choice for an aromatic hedge that will be 3 ft tall. Hardy to zone 5 and is evergreen The flowering will last for several months.
