Kayla

LIMITED TIME SALE PRICE!!

We received seeds from the late Peter Schick of Fort Bragg, California many years ago, grew the seeds and selected the best of the bunch and named it Kayla. The Flowers are full, rounded ball trusses of deep red and begin blooming in early January, adding rich color to the winter landscape. The flowers seem to be frost resistant, since they most always are unscathed by cold weather. The cultivar is a cross of 'Dr. Bowman' x 'Noyo Dream', so it has quite a lot of R. arboreum blood in it. Since it also has some 'Yak', it will not be a huge plant. Our original plant is 4 ft x 4 ft after 10 years time. We will continue to propagate this variety as we feel it is quite worthwhile for adding color to the winter landscape in milder climates. Unregistered at this time.

Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons

·       Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.

·       Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
