Horizon Garnet

Horizon Garnet

Created by Dr. Ned Brockenbrough of Belleview, Washington by crossing rhododendron 'Anna' with 'Kilimanjaro'. The plant is a medium sized grower with very nice dark green leaves, and is always full and lush. The flowers are a rich blood red, in very nice round ball trusses. The plant is hardy to 0 degrees F, and blooms in April. A very handsome rhododendron and worth adding to any collection.

Rare Variety – This variety is difficult to find anywhere due to these reasons
·        Hard to propagate – many cultivars do not root easily from cuttings, but at a reduced rate thus making the plant rare.
·        Hard to find – these cultivars are hard to find in the first place, probably because they are hard to root from cuttings
