Crimson Ruby

Originally known as Berberis thunbergii 'Criruzam', this exciting new Barberry is ultra-showy! The oldest leaves are an attractive bright green, with the newer leaves above that a rich crimson-burgundy, the the newest leaves on top are a shiny deep red. This plant will be a star in any garden. The plant grows to 24 inches tall and 30-36 inches wide. The fall foliage is a brilliant yellow. There are small yellow flowers in spring with red berries being displayed after the leaves fall. This plant is thorny and is also deciduous. It is generally considered 'deer resistant'.
