Arctostaphylos uva-ursi var. Massachusetts

Arctostaphylos uva-ursi var. Massachusetts

Native from Northern California north to Alaska, this ground cover is a prostrate form of Manzanita.  The  ‘Massachusetts’ variety has smaller leaves, but makes up for this with abundant flowers and fruits.

Lovely dark green foliage, which with this cultivar is resistant to spotting, covers this plant abundantly.  Great for covering a bank, as it will grow downhill giving a "waterfall effect".  The small white and pink flowers appear throughout the year, but more abundantly in springtime.  A very choice goundcover.
